Opened in Spring 1973, by Peter and Patricia Cox, Glendoick was one of the first garden centres in Scotland. It has grown gradually over the years to become what is now one Scotland’s finest garden centres and certainly one of the best places to buy plants in Scotland. As well as stocking a huge range of Glendoick’s own speciality plants such as Rhododendron, azaleas, Meconopsis, Kalmia and Camellia, the garden centre is well known for its huge range of trees and conifers and a range of specially chosen herbaceous and shrubs which are ideally suited to Scotland.
Glendoick has never tried to be the largest garden centre, not have we tried to become an out of town department store like one well-known chain. Glendoick is first and foremost about plants. We see no good reason to stock everything for the sake of it. There are numerous specialty nurseries for roses and other plant groups. But we do aim to stock the best performing plants for Scottish gardens and gardeners:

Patricia Cox has designed the impressive Pagoda Garden at Glendoick Garden Centre which demonstrates the way to grow a huge range of plant material. The garden uses raised and mound planting to show how to deal with heavy clay soil conditions which affect many gardeners in the Perth-Dundee area.
