Masses of spectacular summer colour … what colour?…. Any colour you want…
Glendoick grow a specially selected range of these, best suited to Scotland.
Two white ones H. arboresens and H. paniculata are the hardiest of all:
you can grow these even in the coldest gardens and they’ll always flower.
a huge range of plants with blue or white flowers:
come and choose from our range of shrubs and perennials with coloured foliage. Amazing Physocarpus in shades of purple and red, Sambucus with maple like dark purple leaves, yellow foliage in a range of shrubs and perennials.... and much more..
Fuchsias are in flower now and will go on and on all summer into the Autumn. Nothing flowers for longer.
Hardy Fuchsias can be planted in the garden and they'll come up every year.
Bedding Fuchsias need to be kept frost free in winter or you can just throw them out and start again next year.
Weeds can be a problem at this time of year. The Roundup Touch Weeder is perfect for getting at weeds in your shrub borders: just paint on the weedkiller to the plants you want to kill and avoid the ones you want to keep. Excellent for Brambles for example.
Watch our for aphids/greenfly in hot weather: we have lots of ways of getting rid of them, both organic and non-organic.
Feed your tubs and containers at this time of year to keep them going all summer long. You might need: slow release, liquid and granular fertiliser. Liquids are best for containers, and granular feeds for the garden: lawn, fruit and vegetables.
Time for some new furniture or a barbecue? This is the time of year you'll get the most use out of it. Glendoick always has a good range of benches, tea for 2 sets, furniture sets and barbecues.
This is the time of year that you might need to get out and give the garden a good soaking, assuming we get some good summer weather. Glendoick have hoses, sprinklers, watering cans and all the accessories for fitting hoses to taps. We also have a range of multi head guns for all sorts of watering uses.
